Appeal Virtual Machines and Appeal Software Solutions were the names of two Java related companies created by a group of friends from the Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. The company was started in 1998, aquired by BEA Systems in 2002 and later aquired by Oracle in 2008.

 

The friends keep the appeal.se home page out of nostalgia. ;)

 

 

 

  • JRockit

 

The award winning Java Virtual Machine named JRockit was the first product built by the Appeal team. It is a JVM focused on server side performance and manageability.

 

  • JRockit Mission Control

 

JRockit Mission Control is the world class profiling and diagnostics tools suite for Java. By utilizing the power of the JRockit runtime, the profiling can be done at a very low overhead in production type scenarios.

 

 

  • Appeal Software Solutions

To help fund the development of JRockit, the Appeal  team had to do consulting on the side. This consulting was done under the sibling company Appeal Software Solutions.
